Business Spotlight: Preferred Cutz

Maurice Cooke, also known as “Mo” to clients and friends, is a well-known master barber in the Cincinnati area. The title of Master Barber is not one used lightly. With his expert skill and sleight of hand, he is able to cut anyone’s hair. He owns a barber shop called Preferred Cutz in College Hills Ohio.

When asked how he came to be a barber, Mo responded, “I grew up around it, my mother had been cutting hair all my life. I began cutting hair in middle school.” As an African-American business owner, Mo is very proud of his extremely diverse clientele. The main factor that sets Preferred Cutz apart from other shops is Mo’s great customer service, quality of work, passion, and love that he puts into his craft. Mo is not only a Master Barber, but a Master Fixture in the Queen City.
