New Year, Same Me.
Truth be told, 2020 was much disrespectful in so many ways. We lost some amazing people (Kobe and Gia Bryant, Ruth Bader Ginsberg and countless others), civil unrest, and of course, the pandemic heard ‘round the world. Even so, I can’t act like I have not been blessed several times over in 2020. In the middle of this pandemic and sheltering in place for months on end, I found so much comfort and joy within the 4 walls of my home with my husband, our daughter, our pet dog Lola, and my bird (since nobody else will claim him) Bookoo. In the middle of this pandemic, I launched a fashion magazine with the help of 4 incredibly talented human beings. They have lent their vision, their time, their gifts to my publication, and without them, this magazine would remain a distant dream. I have met some awesome people and have had some inspiring encounters with other business owners in the greater Cincinnati area. 2020 showed me what I’m made of, strengthened my faith in God, and has further shown me that I am right where I am meant to be….where I have always been meant to be. If there is one thing that 2020 has taught me, it’s Just do It. This magazine has sat in the recesses of my mind for YEARS. I would find myself being so irate when I’d see a magazine with little diversity or a TV show with little to no diversity on it. I lived in a town that perpetuated the lack of diversity and kind of left me feeling overwhelmed and like there was not much that I could do to change the situation. When we moved to Northern Kentucky, I was immediately inspired to put my vision into motion and I am so happy that I was able to meet some folks who were able to help me get my vision in print.
Looking forward to what we have planned for the 2021 year, I can’t wait to see our publication grow. We’ve been scheming and dreaming about how we can make the Spring, Summer, and Winter issues even snazzier this year. We also have some events in the works (contingent on how the world will be looking when the weather warms up). We plan on putting ourselves out there in the community and in y’alls faces more in 2021 than in 2020. We want to make sure that we are doing our part to encourage ALL people to be their most beautifully authentic selves.
Thank you all for being part of our journey thus far and we look forward to continuing to rock with you in 2021! Until then, Stay Stylish Cincinnati!
